Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Fanny C. Au Hoy of Kona to the Kailua Village
Design Commission to replace Vonnie Lyons of Kona, whose term will expire on
December 31, 1999.
Mrs. Au Hoy is a lifetime resident of Hawaii and since 1999 has been retired.
Prior to her retirement, she was the curator of the Daughters of Hawaii-Hulihee
Palace (1985-1995).
She is active in community affairs, having membership to the Daughters of
Hawaii, the Hawaii Airport Cultural Advisory Commission, the Kaululauhala
O Kona and the Kailua Pier Aloha Committee.
If approved, Mrs. Au Hoy will serve a term to end on December 31, 2002.
Should the Council have any questions regarding this nomination, you may call

RE: Nomination of Fanny C. Au Hoy to the Hawaii County Kailua Village Design
Commission
Pursuant to Section I (e) of Rule 4 of the rules of Procedure of the Council of the County
of Hawaii, this written approval is submitted in regards to Communication No. 574
regarding the nomination of Fanny C. Au Hoy to the Hawaii County Kailua Village
Design Commission, waiving said referral from the Committee of Planning in order that
appropriate action can be taken by the Council.
In reviewing the contents of the referral, it is deemed advisable that such waiver be
granted.
