I am pleased to nominate Josephine Pelayo of District 4,to the Police Commission.
Ms. Pelayo is a lifelong resident of Hawai`i and received her Associate's Degree from Hawaii
Community College. She was employed with the Hawai`i County Police Commission and retired
after almost 28 years of service in 2021.
Ms. Pelayo offers an employment-and educational background that fits this Commission. She has
also volunteered her time and talent as a Coach, Board member, and Regional Commissioner for
Puna AYSO. If confirmed, she will fulfill the resignation and remainder of Donna Springers
term ending December 31, 2024.
