J�ZY Oi ........ <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> fir!OF•H�'� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 67 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GRASSROOTS <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP TO ASSIST WITH THE 'OLIVA SKATE <br /> PARK,PHASE 2. <br /> WHEREAS, Grassroots Community Development Group is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization that strengthens our communities through cooperative development of programs <br /> and services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Grassroots Community Development Group is assisting the County with <br /> the development and maintenance of the `Ola`a Skate Park at Kurtistown Park; and <br /> WHEREAS,to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act(ADA) at Kurtistown <br /> Park, Grassroots Community Development Group will construct an accessible walkway from the <br /> exit of the park to the entrance to `Ola`a Skate Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, Grassroots Community Development Group is requesting funds for <br /> building materials and supplies (asphalt,plywood, and concrete)to construct an ADA compliant <br /> walkway linking the Kurtistown Park and `Ola`a Skate Park; and <br /> WHEREAS,partnering with a nonprofit organization to build a skate park falls within <br /> the Department of Parks and Recreation's goal to pursue help from persons and groups to <br /> improve and maintain recreational facilities and enhance programs; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Grassroots Community Development Group to assist <br /> with the `Ola`a Skate Park, Phase 2 at Kurtistown Park. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
