SUBJECT: East Hawaii Police Detention Facility
Enclosed is a bill authorizing the issuance of general obligation bonds in the amount of $1.8 million to the
United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the purpose of financing a portion of the costs of
constructing the East Hawaii Police Detention Facility. Resolution 169-99, D.2, provided for issuing of
County of Hawaii bonds pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 47, HRS; obtain assistance from the
Farmers Home Administration, USDA, and further authorized the Mayor to execute all instruments
relating to such loans to construct the subject facility.
