v oP k!Y <br /> COUNTY OF A c "' STATE A <br /> '1tE 0`F•Np� <br /> SLUI <br /> RESOLUTION CREATINGFORTY-FIVE ( ) NEW POSITIONS <br /> FOR THE NEW IL CONTROL AND PROTECTION <br /> AGENCY <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii is creating the new Animal Control <br /> and Protection Agency to provide for the establishment and maintenance of <br /> County pounds and to provide animal control services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Animal Control and Protection Agency is in need of <br /> forty-five (45) new positions, as specified in Exhibit A, to form the new entity; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, these positions are necessary to fulfill the functions and <br /> requirements of Hawaii Revised Statutes chapter 143 and chapter 711 in <br /> relation to the protection of animals, and chapter 4 of the Hawaii County <br /> Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter <br /> states that the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...for which <br /> appropriations have been made by the council..."; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF <br /> HAWAII that forty-five (45) positions be created in the Animal Control and <br /> Protection Agency. <br />
