My testimony:
I am a cultural birth worker and colleague of Rabbi Rachel Short of Ahava Aina in Hawaii.
We are deeply concerned about culturally appropriate care for pregnancy and birth.
We know from the research that midwives are best able to support culturally appropriate birth and reduce birth trauma
and other complications arising from obstetric racism and violence.
As a doula who works on cultural and spiritual birth practices, I know that midwives have far greater capacity for this
than doctors.
I urge you to pass this important bill.
