Re: Operating Budget
The County of Hawai`i has been contracted by the County of Hawaii Office of Aging to
provide services for the elderly who wish to participate in senior activities.
Enclosed is bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating
$115,000 to the Department of Parks and Recreation's Elderly Activities Division.

A. REQUEST:
Requesting a bill for an ordinance to create a revenue and expenditure accounts in the Elderly Activities
budget entitled
"Senior Activities-State"in the amount of$100,000 and
"Senior Activities-Program Income" in the amount of$15,000.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Department of Parks and Recreation received a contract from the County of Hawaii Office of Aging to
provide services for elderly who wish to participate in senior activities. Services provided include activities
such as transporation between senior centers, special events, excursions, providing meals, providing
education opportunities and various recreational activites.
