A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HILO EDUCATION
ARTS REPERTORY THEATRE TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT FOR ITS YOUTH SUMMER THEATER CAMP AND PRODUCTIONS.
WHEREAS, the Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre (HEART) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to present theater, offer arts education, and provide theater-going
opportunities to the community; and
WHEREAS, HEART has produced recent community showings of Beauty and the Beast, Biloxi Blues, Home for the HiloDays, LGBTQ Pride Day Concert, Cabaret, and The Lion King Jr.; and
WHEREAS, HEART has a partnership with the East Hawai‘i Cultural Center and is in need of equipment and supplies for its upcoming youth Summer Theater Camp and subsequent productions;
and
WHEREAS, HEART is requesting funds to assist with purchasing sound, lighting, and other physical production equipment; and
WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to provide a diversified recreation program that addresses the needs and interests of the respective communities
in a safe environment; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide
a grant to the Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre to assist with purchasing equipment for its youth Summer Theater Camp and upcoming productions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
