REQUEST: To appropriate through fund balance in the GET fund, an additional $3,500,000 for the GET Mass Transit OCE, Misc. Contract Ser under account number 025.311.5315.02.115 and revenue account 025.3609.10 to cover additional expenditures related to the 5% contract increase for the fixed route operations contractor that took effect from February 24, 2023 to June 30, 2023. B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED: The Mass Transit Agency received a request the fixed route contractor, Roberts Hawaii under RFP 3909, to increase the cost to provide fixed route transportation 5% effective February 24, 2023 through June 30, 2023 as allowable under the terms of the request for proposal subject to County Council approval. The requested increase is due to wage increases to BU 01, cost of fuel and general cost increases to operate transportation services. The Mass Transit Agency has identified fund balance in the General Excise Tax (GET) fund to cover the requested fund increase.
