A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A SOD CUTTER TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION.
WHEREAS, the West Hawai‘i Veterans Cemetery Development and Expansion Association is donating one (1) sod cutter to the County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, this sod cutter, valued at approximately $6,400, will be utilized to support the maintenance of the West Hawai‘i Veterans Cemetery in Kailua Kona; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, provides that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreations recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I, in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, the County of Hawaiʻi, accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Finance, and the Office of the Mayor.
