To whom it may concern:
Having lived in Holualoa for an extended period of my life, I have seen a few changes when it comes to the buildings that
surround us in this area. For some reason, I have always felt the need to preserve structures that have been built in the past,
as a sort of testimonial as to the way things were done before. I have friends that come over from Kauai,who feel much more
at home, as it reminds them of Kauai before hurricane Iniki.With all their new construction after the hurricane, nothing looks
the same. Ergo, it is getting harder and harder to visit sites that show the ways things were done before.
It appears that the monument under discussion,that was built by the Japanese is unique to Hawaii,or at least Holualoa,and
thus I encourage the powers that be,to fund the restoration of the monument.
