Subject: Public Comments on Resolution 73-23
Dear County Council Members,
Thank you for your dedication to climate action! I write in strong support of Resolution 73-23. By passing this resolution,
you're taking your climate action to a whole new level.
By diverting waste from landfills,you're making an equitable decision to also reduce air pollution as well as potential
groundwater issues to communities near landfills, while also reducing the cost of exporting waste as well as eliminating
the greenhouse gas emissions that result from exporting waste. It's a win-win.
Likewise,with sustainable processing of that waste,you encourage green building and transportation as well as healthy
soils for local agriculture. With a commitment to zero-waste, Hawaii County a role model for other island counties and
nations as well for all locales across the globe.
With Resolution 73-23, voting yes is a vote for a healthy future for future generations!Again,thank you for your
dedication to climate action!
