Dear COUNTY COUNCIL MEMBERS:
I am supporting this measure. Thanks to my training in Public Health and Medicine, I
understand how vital it is to effectively manage waste. This project is a significant step forward
towards taking the island out of the waste crisis it finds itself right now.
The positive repercussions are wide, as this measure will help protect our coral reefs, improve
the island's coastal infrastructure, beaches, and community. I am sure this Res. 73-23 will be
seen as the pioneer step that moves the county to the vanguard on initiatives to reduce solid and
liquid waste, and generate clean energy,thus reducing the damaging effects we are seeing in our
oceans and coastal zones.
I submit my testimony in strong support of Resolution 73-23.
