Subject: Bill 18, affordable housing eligibility
To whom it may concern,
I strongly oppose Bill 18's Section 2 paragraph c(1)(A).As the Bill is currently written, it is open to ANY county employee.
This comes across as self-serving rather than considering all taxpayers' occupations.Was it determined through research
that allowing all county employees to get"first dibs"was more beneficial to our community than other sectors that are
in desperate need of staff?
Should preferential treatment be given to a group, specific language must list occupations most in need, i.e.,teachers,
teaching assistants, county funded medical staff, and social services.
For full transparency,the public is entitled to see the results of your hopefully data driven research that states that
preferential treatment should be given to all county employees. If this research is not available,then please revise the
bill to ensure inclusivity for the entire community.
