I strongly oppose this bill, particularly the preference given to county employees for affordable housing. , "
They should not be granted special privileges over other working taxpayers in the county. _''

The county's role is to serve the taxpayer, and this is a disservice to taxpayers.
As someone who has relied on affordable housing in the past, I can tell you that the housing market is already brutal
enough to navigate for the average working person and this would make matters worse.
My parents, both full time school bus drivers, have been forced to move into my 2-br apartment with my wife and two
kids.This is because the house they rented for 15 years was sold, and when they re-entered the rental market, it was
impossible to find a reasonable accommodation.
They will have to resort to affordable housing otherwise leave the state.This bill will make it impossible for such people
to find housing since they will now lose priority to county workers.
