Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs, to which was referred
Communication No. 144, reports as follows:
Communication No. 144, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated March 3, 2023, requests
the Council's review and confirmation of the reappointment of Palani Greenwell to the Kailua
Village Design Commission.
Executive Assistant to the Mayor Pomaika`i Bartolome was present in the Hilo Chambers to
introduce Mr. Greenwell, who was not present.
Committee Vice Chair Sue Lee Loy and Member Rebecca Villegas requested Mr. Greenwell's
presence at the upcoming meeting of the Council for consideration of his reappointment.
Pursuant to Chapter 25, Section 7, Division 1, Section 25-7-2 of the Hawai`i County Code,
members of the Kailua Village Design Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor with the
approval of the Council.
Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Communication No. 144, and recommends the reappointment of Palani Greenwell
to the Kailua Village Design Commission.
