HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 097 Draft 01 2022-2024RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR MULTI-YEAR EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more
than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i wishes to enter into multi-year employment contracts to implement a strategic and multi-faceted plan to expand access to affordable and high-quality childcare
and education for Hawai‘i Island keiki; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i wishes to enter into multi-year employment contracts, for the following positions: Early Childhood Resource Coordinator and Early Childhood Resource Associate;
and
WHEREAS, these employment contracts will not exceed an end date of December 31, 2026; and
WHEREAS, these employment contracts will be funded with American Rescue Plan Act funds provided to the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I:
That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into multi-year employment contracts as indicated above, for the Department of Research and Development.
That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreements.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Department of Finance, the Department of
Human Resources, and the Department of Research and Development.
