HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 121 Draft 01 2022-2024 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF BIOASTIN SUPPLEMENTS AND HATS TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI FIRE DEPARTMENT. WHEREAS, the Cyanotech Corporation is donating five (5) bottles of BioAstin, seventy-five (75) count per bottle, 12MG vegan formula for each working ocean lifeguard, totaling approximately three hundred ten (310) bottles, and approximately sixty-two (62) hats to the County of Hawai‘i Fire Department; and WHEREAS, this BioAstin supplement, valued at approximately $15,620.90, will be utilized by the ocean lifeguard staff to support their physical fitness and health and these hats, valued at approximately $496.00 will help to decrease sun exposure; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, provides that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I, in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, the County of Hawaiʻi, accepts this donation. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Fire Department, the Department of Finance, and the Office of Management.
