Re: Resolution for multi-year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year
for a new multi-year lease agreement for one Super Duty 4x4 pickup truck with utility
cabinets including auto crane for the Department of Environmental Management, Solid
Waste Division. This equipment will be used by the Construction Equipment Mechanic
to perform repairs maintenance on heavy equipment. The cost will be approximately
$7,000 per month for 60 months.

A. REQUEST:
Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for one F750 sized Super Duty
4x4 Truck with Utility Cabinets including Auto Crane for the Department of Environmental Management,
Solid Waste Division.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Solid Waste Division (SWD) is requesting to lease finance one (1) Utility Truck with Auto Crane to assist
and support the Division's operations and maintenance activities in West Hawaii. The West Hawaii mechanic
truck, CH 1717 is a 1991 Chevy 2500 truck that has 67,282 miles and is not capable of providing the level of
service needed for this position.
This truck is a necessary piece of equipment for the Construction Equipment Mechanic to be able to do
repairs and maintainance on our heavy equipment.
The Purchase price is estimated at $375,000 for the truck. The estimated lease payment is $7,000 per
month. This vehicle will be leased financed such that the County will own the truck at the end of a five year
lease.
Funding for the lease is included in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget although delivery is not expected until
the next fiscal year due to the long lead time.
