Enclosed is a resolution accepting a donation of a forfeited 2012 Acura TSX from the
State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General. This vehicle, valued at
approximately $9,000, will be utilized by the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for law
enforcement purposes.

A. REQUEST:
Requesting to accept the "donation" by the Department of the Attorney General, to acquire ownership of a
forfeited vehicle valued at$9,000.00 to be used by the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Department of the Attorney General has approved our Department's request to acquire ownership of
forfeited property, a 2012 Acura TSX, valued at$9,000.00. In accordance with section 712A-16(3), Hawaii
Revised Statutes, this property must be used for law enforcement purposes.

RE: Resolution No. 122-23 • A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF THE DONATION OF A 2012 ACURA TSX FROM THE STATE
OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL TO THE HAWAII
COUNTY OFFICE OF THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
