of\a;�'': <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 102 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO DOMESTIC <br /> VIOLENCE HURTS ANIMALS AND PEOPLE TO SUPPORT ITS DOGHOUSE <br /> PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Domestic Violence Hurts Animals and People (DVHAP) is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization whose mission is to strive to bring harmony to families, and for those who <br /> cannot speak, by educating our children on positive relations with animals; and <br /> WHEREAS, DVHAP is conducting a community-based project to educate and bring <br /> awareness to the public on the plight of dogs left out in the elements through working with high <br /> school students to build dog shelters by utilizing recycled wood pallets to build doghouses for <br /> low-income households' island wide; and <br /> WHEREAS, DVHAP is requesting funds for recycled building materials and supplies <br /> for its doghouse program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that <br /> promote positive, character-building programs by bringing awareness and education to the youth <br /> in our communities in a drug- and alcohol-free environment; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to DVHAP for expenses relating to its doghouse program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
