''''''' '' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 104 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAMAKUA YOUTH <br /> FOUNDATION, INC., TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS KEIKI <br /> PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Hamakua Youth Foundation, Inc., (HYF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization whose mission is to provide Hamakua youth the support and guidance essential to <br /> positive growth by opening doorways to the world and sharing life skills rooted in the Hawaiian <br /> values of kuleana, aloha, laulima(working together), and mahalo; and <br /> WHEREAS, HYF's Keiki Program offers holistic support to youth and families through <br /> academic and enrichment programs serving over 30 youths ages 12 and under; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Keiki Program provides homework assistance, skills development in <br /> reading and math, hands-on activities in its keiki garden, and place-based, multicultural learning <br /> opportunities; and <br /> WHEREAS, HYF is requesting funds to purchase supplies and materials for its Keiki <br /> Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports community-based programs that <br /> promote education, health, safety, and well-being in drug-free and alcohol-free venues; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hamakua Youth Foundation, Inc., to assist with <br /> expenses related to its Keiki Program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
