Loo JM`M oc \�����,��',. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII :•� r'� •�, STATE OF HAWAII <br /> '••,TE OF. . <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 123 23 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY <br /> DONATION OF $26,000 TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII POLICE <br /> DEPARTMENT. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Island K9 Association is donating $26,000 to the Police <br /> Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used to purchase Scentlogix synthetic training <br /> aids for the Police Department's Narcotic Canines and to replace kennels, gates, and <br /> fences associated with canine shelters at the Kealakehe Police Station; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, <br /> and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code states that <br /> any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br /> capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by <br /> Resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and <br /> Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the <br /> County of Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />
