i <br /> I <br /> i <br /> 3MtY'®i tf,,Y <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAVI STATE OF HAWAVI <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> 125 P <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ST. AUGUSTINE'S <br /> EPISCOPAL CHURCH IN NORTH KOALA TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES <br /> RELATED TO ITS MONTHLY COMMUNITY MEAL PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, St. Augustine's Episcopal Church was founded in 1884 as a mission church <br /> with the goal of faithfully serving the diverse and isolated community in North Kohala; and <br /> WHEREAS, St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, a subordinate 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization of the Episcopal Church in Hawaii, seeks to continue the tradition of Christian <br /> service through its ongoing monthly community meal program, which feeds those without <br /> regular access to proper food sources; and <br /> WHEREAS, St. Augustine's Episcopal Church has a certified kitchen on its campus <br /> where volunteers prepare and pack the community meals, serving 400 to 500 people at every <br /> monthly meal using a drive-through system; and <br /> WHEREAS, St. Augustine's Episcopal Church is requesting funding assistance to help <br /> purchase the necessary ingredients and supplies to prepare and serve food for its monthly <br /> community meal program at its church campus; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports this program as it is in keeping <br /> with the goals and objectives of the department to support public programs that improve the <br /> well-being of Hawaii County residents in a safe, drug- and alcohol-free environment; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in North Kohala to assist <br /> with expenses related to its monthly community meal program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
