COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF IIA AVI <br /> ,rr°aF•µr� <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDEA GRANTT THE NORTH <br /> KOHALA COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES <br /> RELATED TO THE NORTH KOHALA COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE <br /> TEAM. <br /> WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Emergency Response Team (NKCERT) is a <br /> volunteer organization focused on providing the public with important knowledge, training, and <br /> materials regarding emergency preparedness and response; and <br /> WHEREAS,NKCERT, the largest community emergency response team in Hawaii <br /> County, is currently working to open a new emergency shelter to serve as its base of operations; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization, is working in partnership with the organizers of NKCERT to provide safe and <br /> reliable community-based emergency services for the people of North Kohala; and <br /> WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center is requesting funding <br /> assistance for expenses including, but not limited to, batteries, water service, communication <br /> technology, and medical supplies; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department supports this project as it is in keeping with <br /> the goals and objectives of the department to support public programs that provide Hawaii <br /> County residents with exceptional, all-hazards emergency services; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Ilawai`i Fire <br /> Department to provide a grant to the North Kohala Community Resource Center to assist with <br /> expenses related to the North Kohala Community Emergency Response Team. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
