A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE NORTH KOHALA
COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE KOHALA HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT GRAD NIGHT.
WHEREAS, high school graduations are exciting occasions to celebrate and recognize students for all of their hard work and educational accomplishments as they move on to the next chapter
of their lives; and
WHEREAS, Kohala High School Project Grad Night is a collaborative effort by parents, teachers, and students to ensure that the Kohala High School graduating class of 2023 is able to
celebrate their achievement in a healthy, fun, and responsible manner; and
WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is working in partnership with the organizers of the Kohala High School Project Grad Night to
provide a safe, enjoyable, and substance-free overnight graduation party for the Kohala High School graduating class of 2023; and
WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center is requesting funding assistance to help secure the venue and comedian entertainment for Kohala High School Project Grad Night; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports this project as it is in keeping with the goals and objectives of the department to support public programs that provide Hawai‘i County
residents, especially young people, with fun activities in a safe, drug- and alcohol-free environment; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant
to the North Kohala Community Resource Center to assist with expenses related to the Kohala High School Project Grad Night.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
