A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE RESCUE EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES
FOR THE MAKALEI FIRE STATION.
WHEREAS, the Hawai‘i Fire Department’s Makalei Fire Station in North Kona has been operating since 2012 serving residents and visitors of the growing North Kona and West Hawai‘i area;
and
WHEREAS, the Hawai‘i Fire Department has identified the need for rescue equipment and supplies at its Makalei Fire Station in West Hawai‘i, which will improve departmental readiness
during emergency and hazard responses; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai‘i Fire Department’s mission is to provide exceptional, all hazards emergency services to the residents and visitors of Hawai‘i Island; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Hawai‘i Fire Department for rescue equipment
and supplies for the Makalei Fire Station in West Hawai‘i.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Fire Chief and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized
to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
