Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs, to which was referred
Resolution No. 74-23 reports as follows:
Resolution No. 74-23, introduced by Councilmember Jenn Kagiwada and Councilmember Sue
Lee Loy via Communication No. 151, dated March 3, 2023,urges awareness and pledges
support to project Native Hawaiian women and girls from abuse and exploitation.
This resolution seeks to increase awareness of the Holoi A Nalo Wahine Oiwi: Missing and
Murdered Native Hawaiian Women and Girls Task Force Report, and encourages the community
to promptly recognize indications of sex trafficking and abuse and to immediately report any
such instances to the proper authorities.
Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution 74-23, and recommends its adoption.
