Aloha Honored Council Representatives-
My and I support this resolution as one of the final steps in recovering from the 2018 eruption in lower Puna.An entire
surfing and fishing culture that was integral to life in Puna has disappeared.Without Pohoiki access, all of Puna must
drive to Hilo to access the water, adding tons of additional strain on our already overworked facilities.
Our families must be separated for weeks at a time while fishing the area,we have less options for local recreation,
which in turn creates bored and troubled kids.
Please help open Puna fishing grounds to help our families survive!
