Given your ongoing work on the budget, I would like to remind you of the
importance of a sewer line in the Kahalu'u area of Kona. The line is crucial
for maintaining water integrity in the bay. This affects not only residents but
thousands of visitors each year. It impacts Kona`s image as a safe tourist
destination.
Please take steps to provide funding for that sewer line in the 2023-24 budget.
The first step is to estimate project costs by funding the environmental impact
process and input from engineers. The problem has been worsening for years.
Now is the time to act.
