Subject: Kahaluu and the sewer line
Aloha County Council members, Mayor Mitch Roth, Director of Environmental Management Ramzi
Mansour, Director of Finance Deanna Sako and Deputy Managing Director Robert Command,
Please include a line item for Kahalu'u Bay with ample fundinq in the 2023-2024 budget to pay for an
Environmental Impact Statement or an Environmental Assessment and engineering plans to get this
one mile of sewer line "shovel-ready", to apply for federal and state funding. Please protect the health
of the people and the ocean environment on our island by replacing cesspools and septics now!

Please note the pictures below and see the number of people using this space in spite of the bad
weather. It is vastly more crowded on a sunny day. I was painting there on Friday April 7, 2023 and
took the pictures at that time. I didn't go swimming because I knew about the cesspools...
