I ask that you vote in favor of overriding Mayor Roth's veto. It is imperative that the decision to allow rezoning extensions (along with many other protocols currently set in place) not rest with one individual but rather be a public process where you as our district representatives as well as the community have input.Without this measure, special interests namely developers and corporations can continue to influence land use on our island directly contributing to the housing crisis and displacement of local people and Native Hawaiians. Please, I urge you to put the power back into your hands that will be influenced by the mana'o of our community members.
