TESTIMONY IN SUPPORT OF BILL 194
Kona Council Chambers

Aloha Hawaii County Council Members,
My name is Christine Paul Russi and I have lived in Kona for 37 years. I have watched our beautiful Big Island grow,
through the years, and I am writing in strong support of Bill 194. I ask that you vote in favor of overriding Mayor Roth's'
veto.
As you know, Bill 194 will increase transparency, by making zoning extensions a public process, rather than an
administrative one with little to no accountability to the public and to the law. I have never agreed,that any serious
goverment decisions, like planning, be carried out by one individual. Without the passage of this measure, special
interests can continue to influence land use on our island and we will continue to struggle with increasing land prices
and housing availability.
Please support our community and pass Bill 194 again.
