60JNtY OF M,.''' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII : •: ''-'°-•',:o STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 1.69 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOPE SERVICES <br /> HAWAII, INC.,TO SUPPORT THE HAWAII KEIKI RODEO EVENTS. <br /> WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc., is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that <br /> brings to life gospel values of justice, love, compassion and hope through service, empowerment, <br /> and advocacy; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Keiki Rodeo Association(HKRA) promotes the rodeo sport for <br /> youth(18 and under) and preserves the Paniolo lifestyle for the keiki of Hawaii Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc., is working with HKRA to empower and <br /> support the paniolo culture and history of Hawaii Island by hosting four youth rodeo events at <br /> the Alvin Cabral Rodeo Arena with the finals being held on June 3, 2023; and <br /> WHEREAS, these keiki rodeo events will be drug- and alcohol-free family-friendly <br /> events that attract residents from around the island; and <br /> WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc., is requesting funds to purchase a storage <br /> station and maintenance equipment and supplies for this event; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports public programs that promote <br /> drug- and alcohol-free events that enrich the lives of community members; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc., to purchase a storage station <br /> and maintenance equipment and supplies for the Hawaii Keiki Rodeo Association events. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
