The Arc of Hilo appreciates the support of the County of Hawaii, and Councilmembers Heather Kimball and
Sue Lee Loy, which will make it possible to hold the 2"d Annual King Kamehameha's Awesome Athletes Canoe
Race, to be held Sunday,June 41" on Hilo Bay.
On behalf of the race committee, we are excited to announce that we are nearing 100 youth and adults with
disabilities registered to compete, with 12 athletes joining us from Oahu.
Your support is especially important this year due to the delay in release of the Community Enrichment grant
program through the Hawai'i Tourism Authority and Hawai'i Visitors and Convention Bureau, which helped
fund the inaugural race in 2022.
Mahalo also to Aloha Air Cargo, Hilo Hawaiian, Hilo Yacht Club, and many more sponsors and supporters.
Please come join us on Sunday 9am to Spm to celebrate youth and adults with disabilities as they compete in
the state's official sport, in their own regatta. It will be a day well spent!
