My name is Matthew Ho and I am the C shift Fire Captain at Makalei Fire Station. I am
testifying insupport ofResolution I53-63,
AtK4aka|eivvehave ogood size response area spanning from Pu'uL@niRanch toPa|aniroad
and respond to a very wide range of calls, MV hope is to be able to purchase a mo|ti-use rescue
tool that can be used in several different situations like auto extrication and forcible entry in
residential situations allowing ustosignificantly cut down the time it takes us to access victims
and initiate any life saving measures. I have personally been on several incidents where having
atool like this Would have been a great benefit, The tool vvewant also has many other
beneficial uses to as well but I think the bottom line is that it will rnake us more efficient and
assist us in providing care for the community,
We are all very grateful that our fire station is even being considered for something like this,
It seems like funding for us is always very hard to come by, and with all of the other expenses
that our department has it is pretty much out ofthe question to purchase an item like this
without outside help, | can assure all of you That this will be going to a very worthy cause
helping us do the best we can for the community. My top priority here is to provide the best
service possible and wewant to use the funds from this todojust that.
