Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of Yukio Takeya of
Hilo to the Hawaii County Water Commission. Mr. Takeya will
replace Glenn A. Santos of Hilo whose term expired on
December 31, 1996.
Mr. Takeya is a lifetime resident of Hawaii and since 1971, has
been the President and Principal Broker of Ala Kai Realty,
Inc. He is the President of Destination Hilo, and a member of
the Hawaii Association of Realtors, the Downtown Improvement
Association and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry
of Hawaii. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
If approved, Mr. Takeya will serve a term to end
December 31, 2001. Should the Council need further information
regarding this submission, you may contact me at your
convenience.
