Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs, to which was referred
Communication No. 273, reports as follows:
Communication No. 273, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated April 27, 2023, requests
the Council's review and confirmation of the nomination of Damon Nagata to the Youth
Commission.
Executive Assistant to the Mayor Pomaika`i Bartolome was present in the Hilo Chambers to
introduce Mr. Nagata, who was also present in the Hilo Chambers.
Pursuant to Article 5, Chapter 3, Section 5-3.4(a) of the Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor may
appoint up to six members of who are residents of the County.
Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Communication No. 273, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of
Damon Nagata to the Youth Commission.
