'-- <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 1.8S 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL <br /> YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF REAL <br /> PROPERTY FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> MANAGEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other <br /> obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one <br /> fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Management desires to lease two units totaling <br /> approximately 14,704 square feet of warehouse space and secured parking situated at 203 Kekuanaoa <br /> Street, in Hilo, County and State of Hawai`i, from Giampaolo Boschetti and Donna-Jean Walden <br /> ("Landlord")to be utilized by their Wastewater Division; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Management desires to enter into a multi-year <br /> lease agreement that is anticipated to commence on or before July 1, 2023, for five (5)years, with the <br /> option to extend the lease for two (2) additional five (5)year terms with Landlord; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Management is requesting authorization for the <br /> Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement with Landlord for warehouse space and secured <br /> parking; now,therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that pursuant <br /> to section 10-11 of the Hawai`i County Charter, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) <br /> year lease agreement with two (2) options for extension for the Department of Environmental <br /> Management as indicated above. <br />
