Statement:
It is critically important for Hawaii County to create a Cabinet-Level Office to address Sustainability, Climate, Equity and
Resilience for all of Hawaii County residents.
A Office:
To develop educational programs for Hawaii Island schools and communities about the importance of all of the above,
to this, and generations to come; locally, nationally and globally.
To encourage school and community participation in Sustainability and Climate Change projects that are designed,
planned, executed and evaluated by the Cabinet-Level Office addressing all of the above.
To share best practices through collaboration with local, state and federal agencies about Sustainability initiatives that
can be tried or put into use or developed into pilot programs here on the Big Island.
