Subject: Testimony in support of OSCER Bill 48
Honorable Members of the Government Operations and External Affairs Committee,
I am writing to express my strong support for Bill 48, which proposes the creation of the Office of Sustainability, Climate,
Equity, and Resilience(OSCER) in Hawai'i County. I believe that this bill is a critical step towards addressing the
challenges posed by climate change, promoting sustainability, and building resilience in our community.
The IPCC tells us that we have a rapidly closing window of opportunity to mitigate the most extreme climate chaos
scenarios.
And yet climate scientists such as Dr Michael Mann say we can still take meaningful action -we face Urgency, but we still
have Agency...!
Please act with courage and vote to pass Bill 48.
