Hawaiian Acres consists of 4000 properties in a rural setting. While we each pay annual County Taxes, we provide our
own

because these services have not been extended to our area. Services provided and managed from our volunteer Charter
Board are limited by the payment of voluntary- not required as in most HOAs-and the donated labor of some of our
community residents.
While we are one of the largest Home Owners Association in Hawaii County, and receive among the fewest services,
safety for our families, our homes, and our properties is very important. Through our Council Representative, Matt
Kaneali'i-Klienfelder is supporting Hawaiian Acres and it's residents. With the$20,000.00 available through Resolution
183-232, our council will be able to rebuild our ten thousand gallon water catchment system and restore our currently
unusable firehouse with a roof and restorative paint to the sides. Also, it is important to know that we do have funds in
our accounts, but having suffered an arson fire to our Community Association building in January -just months
following the collapse of our catchment -our dollars are being stretched to reconstruction costs not covered by
insurance and inflation.
This is the best way for us to keep our community safe. Please help us.
