GounciI COCK. 135 From: Melissa Mina Sent: Tuesday, May 30, 2023 6:40 AM To: Council Testimony Subject: Bill 30 To those who have the power to make change, My family and I are pleading, for the sake of human life and the animals of Hawaii Island, that changes be made to bring more funding so our current HORRENDOUS situation with animals changes. I have called animal control when a loose pit bull was roaming our neighborhood, terrorizing our neighborhood, only to be caught in a pig trap a mile away by a neighbor since animal control never responded. I see my neighbors dogs go without water all day long and a 4 foot chain hooked onto an old car rim is NOT an acceptable way to keep a dog. Yet Hawaii County Animal control will do NOTHING to help these four helpless dogs. It is said that how we treat animals, is how we can tell how humans are treated. It is also said that we ought to BE THE CHANGE that we want to see happen. I am willing to donate my time helping with a free spay and neuter program ran by the state. So PLEASE, BE the CHANGE Hawaii needs as our lack of animal care taking place on island has been unexceptable for many years. Sincerely, Melissa Mina PO Box 1424 Kurtistown, HI 96760 w - w Comm.
