Aloha Council Chair Kimball and Council Members:
I am pleased to nominate John D. Pelletier to the Kona Community Development Plan, Action
Committee.
John is a seven-year resident of Hawai'i who originally attended Belton High School in Belton,
Texas, from 2006-2010. After completing high school, he pursued a Bachelor of Science degree
in Physics from the University of Texas in Austin from 2010-2014. During his undergraduate
studies,he also concurrently earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Astronomy from the same
university.
John is currently employed with Keck Observatory in Kamuela as an Observing Assistant. He
has a desire to contribute to the community and believes that active participation in local
decision-making processes is crucial for creating positive change. If confinned, he will fill Shane
Palacat-Nelson's holdover seat with a term ending May 31, 2027.
