Re: Operating Budget
In the current Budget Ordinance 23-50, $390,100 is appropriated in the HI Impact Grant
account. Additional federal funds in the amount of$27,100 are being provided by the
Office of National Drug Control Policy to combat the drug problem in the County of
Hawaii.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these
additional funds into the Police Department's HI Impact Grant account, bringing the total
appropriation to $417,200.

A. REQUEST:
This is to request to appropriate an additional$27,100.00 for the HI Impact Grant Program under expenditure account
number 010.201.5219.93 and revenue account 3302.98. The grant is funded from the High Intensity Drug Trafficking
Areas(HIDTA)Program.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Office of National Drug Control PolicyONDCP)is providing additional funds under the HIDTA Program to combat
the drug problem in the County of Hawaii. Funding will be used for overtime,travel,training,services and equipment needed
for operations to investigate drug related cases.
Current Appropriation: $390,100.00 FY23-24
Total Grant Funds: G23 $417,200.00
