RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT AWARD OF $200,000 FROM HAWAI‘I COMMUNITY FOUNDATION TO SUPPORT FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT SERVICES
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i has been selected to receive a $200,000 grant award from Hawai‘i Community Foundation; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to support no-cost financial and ownership counseling provided by a certified U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development counseling service provider;
and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai‘i County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities,
or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Housing and Community Development recommends the acceptance of this grant award; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a)
of the Hawai‘i County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai‘i accepts this grant award.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management, the Finance Department, and to the Office
of Housing and Community Development.
