I have written previously in support of Bill 48; now before you again.
I wish to add only the timely importance of moving quickly on this well
crafted package of climate and community benefits. Working smarter,
more efficiently, and with a unified goal to mitigate the inevitable
disruptions that fossil fueled global heating is already bringing about
should galvanize your attention to working beyond 'business as usual'
and within current organizational 'silos'. These are extraordinary times.
Again, time is of the essence. Year 2030 is now only 6 years, 5 months and
9 days away.
Many astute climate scientists have chosen this date as significant to
have changes IN PLACE to avert the very worst impacts of global heating.
Now, as local leaders, it's your time to step up and make a difference for
our beautiful but restive island.
Please make this commitment!
