SUBJECT: District IV Appointment to Youth Commission-Benjamin Rudo
Aloha kakou,
Our office is pleased to submit Benjamin Rudo as the District IV appointment to the inaugural cohort
of the County of Hawaii Youth Commission.
Benjamin is a graduate of Connections Public Charter School and currently pursuing a Liberal Arts
degree at Hawaii Community College.He earned a Sustainability Certificate from the college in 2023.
Since 2022,Benjamin has worked as a Community Resilience Fellow for Vibrant Hawaii.In this role,
he has engaged community members to build resilience including hosting workshops,designing and
offering skill building opportunities for island youth,coordinated several events that attracted
hundreds of community members,surveyed and mapped local lifelifes using GIS mapping tools,and
has distributed disaster preparedness kits to families all around Hawaii Island.
Benjamin holds numerous certifications that allow him to support our community in a variety of ways
including CERT,HOPE Champion,Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences Facilitator,Mental
Health First Aid Certified,Food Handling Safety Certified,and Hands Only CPR Facilitator.
Benjamin is a kind,hard-working,and enthusiastic person.He loves nature,is sustainability focused,
and culturally aware.He brings a big heart and encouraging,positive attitude to any space he walks
into.His achievements,life experience,and desire to affect change make him an excellent fit for the
Youth Commission.He will serve a term ending as prescribed by Corporation Counsel.

and External Affairs.
