Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Bill No. 53, reports as follows:
Bill No. 53, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako, via Communication No. 358 dated
June 29, 2023, amends Ordinance No. 23-50, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.
This bill appropriates revenues in the Federal Housing and Urban DevelopmentâCommunity Project
Funding Kukuiola account($10,000,000); and appropriates the same to the following Housing and
Urban DevelopmentâCommunity Project Funding Kukuiola programs: Program account($9,500,000)
and Administration account($500,000). Funds would be used to support the planning, design, and
construction cost of the Kukuiola Assessment Center and Emergency Shelter in North Kona.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 53, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
