SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Resolution No. 209-23; a Resolution to Award a Public
Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Maintenance Fund
Stewardship Grant to Ho`omalu Ka`u.
Please find below, a proposed amendment to Resolution No. 209-23. This amendment removes
the place name, Kaunamano from this resolution.
This proposed amendment is illustrated in Ramseyer format as applied to the current contents of
Resolution No. 209-23. Material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken.
1. The fourth WHEREAS clause is amended to read as follows:
"WHEREAS, Ho`omalu Ka`u submitted a Maintenance Fund stewardship grant
application to continue providing land stewardship and cultural education for the Kahua
`Olohu, Kaundtnafto,] Ka`u property, which is situated in in the District of Ka`u(TMK:
(3) 9-5-012:005), and acquired via the Public Access, Open Space, and Natural
Resources Preservation Fund after adoption of Resolution No. 287-15; and"
2. The Enacting Clause is amended to read as follows:
"BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, pursuant to Section 10-16(g) of the
Hawaii County Charter, funds from the stewardship grant awarded by this resolution
shall be used for public safety maintenance and preservation of the Kahua `Olohu,
[Kaiindfnane;] Ka`u property acquired through the Public Access, Open Space, and
Natural Resources Preservation Fund, identified as tax map key (3) 9-5-012:005."
Due to the limited scope of this amendment, a draft copy of the draft 2 of this resolution that
would result if this proposed amendment is adopted is not attached.
